i finally know the shinada love
When playing through these here Yakuza games, I kept hearing people say the new protagonist added to Yakuza 5 was a strong fan favorite, and I didn't know why. Like baseball is cool but that can't have been the reason why. Turns out it's not.
No, the real reason people love him, or at least I do, is that he is a complete and utter dirtbag. He's a total loser with literally pennies (or in this case, yennies) to his name. He owes money to half the people he meets in town, and the other half want to talk about tits with him. You see, he is also a horny little fucker, writing for a nightlife magazine where he interviews cabaret club models who he charms so well he gets his rocks off. On top of all this, he's deeply stupid and lazy.
This is all entertaining on the face of it, but he also thankfully didn't have to be like this. His backstory of being a man who finally achieved his dream, only to have it immediately stolen from him is, even in my limited time spent with him, heartbreaking to see. I too love Shinada. His fighting style is kinda weird though. We'll see.
